Brexit is still giving
After the Brexit vote took place last Thursday, social media became flooded with hashtags expressing support and disdain over the vote.
Many of the hashtags turned out to be humorous when talking about the vote in a general sense, but also when it was about how Britain should have remained in the EU.
#Brexitin5words became popular although it could have been hard trying to describe a big historical event in just a few words. However, social media users became clever and came up with some pretty good phrases.
Users who were opposed to leaving created the hashtag #Bremain and also used #remain, #voteremain, or #strongerin. Hopefully the EU will remember Britain if they ever decide they want to come back.
Rumors also circulated that Texas and California may have been inspired by the Brexit vote and would want to secede from the US. This prompted #Texit and #Calexit meaning that Texas and California should leave the US. Is anyone else thinking #Calexit doesn’t sound as catchy?
Thanks for the laughs Twitter users. Keep them coming.
